			<title>Signs of Mole Cancer</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Signs-of-Mole-Cancer</link>
			<description>

While most moles are just simple growths on the skin and are fairly harmless (some are even considered beauty marks), but there are a few moles that are actually cancerous. Here are a few signs or symptoms that will help you catch them before it’s too late:

1.	Some cancerous moles are unique-looking. Most people have an average of 10 to 40 moles on their body, and they tend to look similar to each other. If a specific mole looks vastly different from the rest, you should have it examined by a healthcare provider immediately.
2.	The mole has a distinctive color. Most moles are pink, tan, brown or skintone-colored. When a mole is discolored or bears a color that is different from your other moles, it could be a sign that it is cancerous.
3.	Irregular shape or Borders. Be very suspicious of moles where one half’s shape is significantly different from the other half. Also pay close attention to the borders, a cancerous mole will have noticeably uneven or scalloped edges.
4.	Mole Size. Size is also a good telltale sign. Normally, a mole should not grow as big as the size or bigger than the diameter of a pencil eraser. If your mole is abnormally large, have it checked by a healthcare professional immediately.
5.	Last but not the least, you should also consider if you are constantly exposed to things that are known to cause skin cancer, such as raw sunlight, excessive radiation, and harmful chemicals.

			<title>What You Need to Know About Cancer Cures</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/What-You-Need-to-Know-About-Cancer-Cures</link>
			<description>

Cancer is arguably the leading cause of deaths worldwide, as it is estimated to have caused around 8 million deaths in 2007 alone (13% of all deaths for that year). It is natural for people to want to know how to cure all of its various iterations, but here are a few things you need to know about cancer cures:

The tenet “An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure” applies. Especially in the case of cancer, since there is a wide range of cancer types and a universal cure is not going to show up anytime soon. This is due to the fact that the cancer that affects different types of the body, from brain to bowel, to breast is vastly different from each other and would require its own unique cure.

On the other hand, early detection is key and this is where the good news lies: technology has made leaps and strides across the years and doctors now have tools that will allow them to detect cancer during its earliest stage, and in some cases even when the growth is only a few cells strong. When detected early, cancer cells can be suppressed and prevented from progressing into malignancy. Furthermore, while there’s no physician who can make a 100% accurate diagnosis, new drugs are being developed all the time – so much that the clinical researchers are having a hard time testing them all – and the rapid advancement of medicine bodes well for the health industry, with some experts predicting that most cancers will be ameliorated by effective drugs within the next 25 years.

			<title>Ways to Prevent Skin Cancer</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Ways-to-Prevent-Skin-Cancer</link>
			<description>

While skin cancer is one of the less fatal types of cancer, it is still better to prevent it from ever developing since the survival rate for a person will be significantly better (100%, compared to 90-35%) if the affliction is prevented from ever happening in the first place. Here are some ways that will help keep you safe from skin cancer:

1.	Always spot check your moles – the average person has an estimated 10 to 60 moles in his or her body, and there is a slim chance that one or several of these moles can progress into cancerous growth. Examine the freckles and the moles monthly for sudden changes, and contact a physician if you notice any new growth, radical discoloration or sores that don’t seem to heal.
2.	Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. The sun’s UV rays are one of the most common causes of skin cancer, and as such, you should avoid raw sunlight during the times when the UV content is strongest (11am to 4pm). You should also be wary of clouds, since 80% of the suns UV rays can penetrate light clouds and fog, which means you can still get sun burns during cloudy day.
3.	Avoid artificial sources of UV radiation. These include sunlamps and tanning salons, which contain as much as 2 to 5 times stronger UV radiation than natual sunlight, and can cause sunburn, premature skin aging, and of course, skin cancer. Children and light-skinned individuals are more prone to these things and should be adequately protected.

			<title>Understanding Acute Leukemia Cancer Symptoms</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Understanding-Acute-Leukemia-Cancer-Symptoms</link>
			<description>

Approximately 50% of the thirty thousand Americans who are diagnosed with leukemia every year will have acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), which is an acute form of leukemia that involves the cells of the myeloid lineage, or will have acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), an acute form of leukemia that affects the cells of the lymphoid lineage, which includes T and B lymphocytes.

Acute leukemia is very dangerous since the progression of this type is very rapid, with survival time being measured only in months if there is no immediate treatment. But how should one know if the leukemia is acute before it’s too late?

Unsurprisingly, the symptoms of acute leukemia are the same as the symptoms of normal leukemia, varying only in frequency and degree. Among these are the following:

1.	Anemia or lowering of iron count in the blood.
2.	Unexplainable and random headaches that seem to range from mild to extremely painful.
3.	Sudden weight loss and lack of appetite
4.	Small red spots that seem to show under the person’s skin, called petechiae.
5.	Wounds that are easily infected or prone to infection.
6.	Frequent stomach pains.

The above examples can also show up due to other reasons that are not related to leukemia, some of them coming from common and relatively harmless afflictions such as cold or flu, so it is still important to ask physicians for a more thorough examination. However, if most or all of the above symptoms have been experienced, it is advisable to seek help as soon as possible.

			<title>Prostate Cancer Research and Treatment</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Prostate-Cancer-Research-and-Treatment</link>
			<description>

Prostate cancer is one of the most common type of cancer amongst American males, and is also one of the most common causes of cancer death among males, second only to lung cancer. Prostate Cancer Research has shown that the affliction is very dangerous, as all men with prostate cancer are only assured of a 5-year survival rate, with the chances decreasing as years are added.

To increase the success rate of prostate cancer treatment, detection should be made at an early stage, and as such, regular prostate examinations should be given to all males, regardless of whether symptoms have already been found or not. It has been said that prostate cancer that has been found by a physician at the earliest stages will give the patient an excellent chance of survival.

One of the more favored treatments for prostate cancer is cryotherapy, which is a treatment that is designed to eradicate all traces of the prostate cancer by freezing the prostate gland. After anesthesia is applied to the gland, needles are inserted by way of the perineum. The cold temperature of the needles destroys the entire gland along with any cancerous growth that it contains. Cryotherapy is favored because it is less invasive than major surgery, such as radical prostatectomy.

Radical prostatectomy is basically just major surgery that is performed to remove the prostate itself. The procedure takes anywhere from 1.5 hours to 4 hours and is done while the patient is under heavy anesthesia (numb from the waist down) or completely unconscious.

			<title>How to Respond If Cancer Returns</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/How-to-Respond-If-Cancer-Returns</link>
			<description>When some cancer cells were left behind, cancer can return despite of the medical efforts made to fight the cancer. These cancer cells could be in the same location where the cancer started or they could grow in another area of the body. Cancer recurrence is grouped into three categories such as local recurrence, regional recurrence and distance recurrence.

The doctor can diagnose cancer recurrence after doing some tests or based on the signs and symptoms present in the body. Watching for cancer recurrence is usually different from checking for the cancer for the first time. Most cancer recurrence can be curable as long as they are early detected. Every cancer is different and it is necessary to talk to a doctor regarding the type of cancer present.

A cancer recurrence can bring back a lot of negative emotions and it does not mean that just because you have been through cancer, you can deal with the recurrence easily. Feeling distressed is expected because you have already started to move on with life and all of sudden, you are shocked with the recurrence. You may feel self-doubt about your decisions regarding your treatments as well as your lifestyle choices. However, it is recommended not to look back. Focus on the present situation and think about ways on how to deal with the recurrence.

It is reasonable to be angry because of the cancer recurrence especially with the doctor and the treatments done. The best thing to do is to seek second opinion in order to understand the situation and the choices you made better. There are a lot of negative feelings that you can feel if cancer returns. What you need to do is to use the same coping techniques you did the first time you had your cancer. Keep...</description>

			<title>Myths about Colon Cancer in Men</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Myths-about-Colon-Cancer-in-Men</link>
			<description>

Colon Cancer (sometimes referred to as colorectal cancer) is the second most common cause of cancer deaths among men in the US, but as commonplace and deadly as it is, colon cancer is actually easily preventable and curable when detected early. Unfortunately, early detection is hampered by the fact that there are lots myths associated with colon cancer, resulting in a lot of misinformation and misconception. Here are some of the more common myths:

1.	If you have regular bowel symptom, you are safe from colon cancer - nothing could be further from the truth. Colon cancer is a deadly, silent killer and there are times when there are no symptoms that will tell you if you are developing one until it is too late and the cancer is already at an advanced stage. There are always symptoms but they tend to show up in different places, so people with colon cancer will sometimes have normal bowel movements because the symptoms have shown up in different places.
2.	You are safe from colon cancer if there is no family history of the affliction - false. Only 10 to 20 percent of people with colon cancer have a family member that has an acute colon cancer. Colon cancer is not hereditary and you can still get it even if no one in the immediate vicinity has it.
3.	If you are diagnosed with colon cancer, it is too late and there is nothing you can do about it - again, false. Colon cancer is not only preventable, but highly treatable especially if caught during the early stages. So don’t be afraid to take regular exams so that if ever you are diagnosed to have colon cancer, the success rate of the treatment is greatly increased.

			<title>Choosing the Proper Treatments For Breast Cancer</title>
			<link>http://www.canceroninternet.com/General/Choosing-the-Proper-Treatments-For-Breast-Cancer</link>
			<description>

The treatments for patients with breast cancer are varied and can differ based on cost, success rate, and viability. However, no one treatment is suitable for all patients and sometimes even a combination of one or two types of therapy is necessary, and patients must consider several things before choosing the proper treatment, these things consist of age of the patient, the type of the cancer, the severity and stage, menopausal condition, and whether the tumor has hormone receptors or not.

Treatments for breast cancer can either be systemic or local, with local treatments being preferred because they control or eliminate cancer cells more effectively in specific organs. The local treatments are made up of:

A.	Surgery, which is either masectomy or lumpectomy, which is also called breast conserving therapy or partial masectomy, because there is no lymph node removal involved.
B.	Radiation therapy, which can be more costly and risky but will have a much higher overall success rate.

Systematic treatments, on the other hand, are used to eliminate all types of cancer cells all over the body, but can also be used to treat breast cancer. Systematic treatments consist of chemotherapy, which uses drugs to control or remove cancer cells, and Hormone therapy, which uses drugs to control reproduction of hormones that promote the enlargement of breast cancer cells, such as estrogen.

At the end of the day, it is important for you to talk to your health care provider to gain more knowledge and to get specific advice in relation to the treatments that are available and applicable to your case. Do not be afraid to take into account second opinion from other physicians.
